Internship, NRK
Group of three designers and four developers
How can we make sports experiences more engaging and accenssible for young audiences at NRK?
Our delivery includes a redesign of NRK’s sports schedule, aimed at making sports content easier to navigate, more interactive, and more appealing for younger users.
We renamed the program and restructured the information architecture, adding features like the Norwegian flag for national identity and interactive filters by sport, day, event, and favorites. A simplified version was designed for NRK’s front page, offering sports highlights at a glance. We also developed a program module that can be embedded in articles and tailored to the topic – for example, women’s sports, Jakob Ingebrigtsen, tennis, or the Olympics.
We also explored two future concepts: “My Sports”, a personalized feed with results and schedules, and Topic Pages for major events, combining the latest news, results, and schedules in one place.
Sports are a key part of NRK’s programming, but younger audiences expect personalization and interactivity. By modernizing the design, NRK can make sports content more accessible, customizable, and engaging, while encouraging users to spend more time on the platform.
Our process included desktop research, competitor analysis, interviews, and user testing to evaluate navigation, filtering, and personalization features.
