This project was created during an intensive data visualization course led by a visual journalist from Aftenposten. For the assignment, we were asked to transform a chosen dataset into an Instagram-style visual. I selected a report on intimate partner violence and homicide in Norway because of the urgency and gravity of the findings.

The project explores how visual contrast can communicate difficult information with sensitivity. I used a flower as a metaphor for something both beautiful and fragile, set against a dark background to reinforce the seriousness of the subject. By adding textured sections within the petals, I also explored how a single flower could communicate multiple layers of data and context.
